The Hospital Clínic of Barcelona, best Hospital.

-more than 160 services all Spain Hospital chose this year to the Best Awards in Class, granted last Monday in Seville

Seville, 2011-October the Hospital Clínic de Barcelona was elected best Hospital by the jury of Awards Best in Class, granted last Monday in the Palacio de Exposiciones y Congresos de Sevilla. In the 6th Edition held this year presented candidacy more than 160 centers and hospital services of all Spain.

Special mention was the complex healthcare University of Salamanca and remained as finalists the Hospital de Basurto Hospital are Llátzer, sanitary area of Ferrol/Conplejo hospital architect marcide HC San Juan Aljarafe Dios Hospital Foundation Hospital Manacor, Galdakao Hospital-Usansolo, Clínica Universitaria de Navarra and Consortium Hospital General Universitario de Valencia.

The autonomous communities more awarded were Madrid, Valencian Community, Catalonia, Andalusia and Basque country.

The awards ceremony was held at the exhibition and Congress in Seville and between these authorities were the Deputy Minister of health of Andalusia, Enrique Cruz Giráldez; Health Advisor, Madrid, Javier Fernández-Lasquetty, and the Deputy Minister of health of the Basque country, Jesús María Fernández.

about the Awards Best in Class

Los Awards Best in Class are an initiative of Gaceta Médica, the weekly of leading medical information, and the Chair of health management of the Universidad Rey Juan Carlos. This year reaches its sixth edition and seek to publicly acknowledge the best hospital and the best services or units of the national territory, both public and private, who seek excellence in the care they provide to their patients.

The mode of call centres is based on a score by the CR index established from the multivariate analysis of the results obtained in the questionnaires sent to hospitals. In addition, this Sixth Edition the Organization of the BiC has decided to join IMS global sponsor of these awards, in the assessment of candidatures with the specific task of weighing up to hospitals according to their characteristics.

IMS provides awards a rating on general hospitals in Spain. It is an analysis that allows to establish differences and similarities between the centers in function, not only in the number of beds, but a variable determinants in the activity and the hospital operation, including levels of care offer, high complexity, complexity, transplants, teaching and technology.

Awards ceremony takes place every year in a different city. Previous editions took place in Madrid, Valencia, Barcelona, Bilbao and Santiago de Compostela.

The main contribution of the efforts coordinated from the dry is to provide the system of a set of potentially usable indicators by all those involved, thus providing common reference to facilitate agregadamente converge towards best practices.

XXIX Congress of the society Spanish of quality.

Murcia, 2011-October the Foundation Grünenthal has participated in the XXIX Congress of the Spanish society of quality healthcare with the Symposium “ pain management in the national health system ”, in which it has submitted the “ project indicators of good practice in the treatment of pain ” and “ Hospital without pain ”. This Congress, which is studied, from the rigor and self-criticism, the current situation of the quality of care in Spain, has taken place in Murcia from 4 to 7 October.

Indicators of good practice in the treatment of pain

Francisco López Soriano, the unity of the pain of the Hospital Comarcal of Northwest in Caravaca de la Cruz, has been submitted to the participants his “ project of construction of indicators of good practice in the treatment of pain ”.

Under the umbrella of the Foundation Grünenthal, FUINSA and the Faculty of Medicine of Murcia, 25 accredited professionals have established a multidisciplinary working group to define a core set of indicators of good practice of caring for the patient with pain. “ The purpose of this project is the optimize, improve information, and share results. A “ Hospital without pain ”

The Vice-Counsellor of health management and infrastructure, Bethlehem Prado, accompanied by the Director of the school, William Cisnero, presented the campaign, which this year includes information and recruitment of bone marrow donors, in the technical school Superior of engineers of telecommunications of the University Polytechnicwhose centers are distinguished for their solidarity and number of donations.

Blood donation universities campaign began last Monday and will be extended until 2 December, visiting 73 colleges and university schools of the six public universities and three of the community of Madrid private. With the campaign, the transfusion centre wants to promote the solidarity of young people and encourage them to join a community of donors of blood, essential for improving the health of the other.
