Sierrallana will have Pediatric emergencies in 2013 but deliveries will have to wait
the Government “not renouncing” the introduction of this service but today is “daunting and unsustainable” TORRELAVEGA, 30 (EUROPA PRESS) The Vice-President and Minister of health and social services of Cantabria, MarÃa José Sáenz de Buruaga, has announced Friday the introduction, before the summer of 2013, the Torrelavega Sierrallana Hospital paediatric emergency service. In addition, has ensured that the Government of Cantabria “not waive the implementation of service delivery”, but “the situation both by the scale, today is a daunting and even untenable project”. Sáenz de Buruaga has made this announcement during the press conference offered at the Hospital Centre, to present the conclusions of the report of the working group that has analysed the strategies of improving pediátrica-obstétrica care in the areas of health Torrelavega – Reinosa, under the coordination of the director-general of management and health care, Carlos León. A report which “brings the elements necessary to make a decision which is eminently political and must necessarily be sustainable”, assured the Councillor. As he stated, the pediatric emergency service will be installed in the hospital setting in new facilities that currently, in principle, in the annex courtyard at the entrance to general emergency. It will be an investment in infrastructure of 360,000 euros to which must be added other 365,000 euros in equipment and medical supplies.
