The Vice-President and Minister of health and social services of Cantabria, MarÃa José Sáenz de Buruaga, has announced Friday the introduction, before the summer of 2013, the Torrelavega Sierrallana Hospital paediatric emergency service. The new service will feature 15 professionals, which will involve a minimum annual cost of 360,000 euros, taking into account the implementation of 37.5 hours per week day and excluding holidays, substitutions and permissions. The staff consists of four pediatricians, four nurses, two assistants, two administrative assistants, two guards and a radiologist.
According to data from the report, this team will serve some 20,000 emergency a year of children 0 to 14 years, from three in the afternoon to ten in the evening on weekdays, and ten in the morning to ten in the evening on weekends and holidays.
