The Vice-President and Minister of health and social services of Cantabria, María José Sáenz de Buruaga, has announced Friday the introduction, before the summer of 2013, the Torrelavega Sierrallana Hospital paediatric emergency service. The staff consists of four pediatricians, four nurses, two assistants, two administrative assistants, two guards and a radiologist.

According to data from the report, this team will serve some 20,000 emergency a year of children 0 to 14 years, from three in the afternoon to ten in the evening on weekdays, and ten in the morning to ten in the evening on weekends and holidays.
