FEAFES will discuss the most innovative aspects of mental health on the occasion of the world day.

Madrid, 2011-September the Spanish Confederation of groupings of family members and persons with Mental illness (FEAFES) held on October 6 a day on the occasion of the World Mental Health Day commemorated in over 100 countries on 10 Octoberwhich will deal with the newest initiatives in caring for this type of disorders.
The day will take place in the Ministry of health, Social Affairs and equality, in Madrid, and will feature the intervention of the holder of that Department, Leire Pajin. At that same event, will be presented the prize to the logos contest I on Mental illness called by FEAFES in collaboration with the AstraZeneca Foundation.
The day will begin at 10.30 p.m., Leire Pajin interventions; FEAFES, José MarÃa Sánchez Monge, President and the representative of the Committee of people with Mental illness in FEAFES, Basilio GarcÃa CopÃn, who will read the manifesto of the World Health Day, which this year is celebrated with the slogan faces the challenge: collaborate in the improvement of mental health ”.
It will deal with new initiatives on priority themes for the associative movement of people with mental illness and family, such as stigma, empowerment and community mental health care model.
Firstly, the Director of the Scottish campaign against stigma See Me, Suzie Vestri, who will expose this pioneering initiative, referent of the World Health Organization will intervene. Subsequently the former Minister of health and welfare of Castile – La Mancha, Fernando Lamata, will reflect on remedies and devices needed to establish a Community model of mental health care.
Finally, the representative of the Mental Health Foundation, David Crepaz-Keay, will offer a Conference on the empowerment of persons with mental illness.
The event, which will be closed by the general secretariat of Social policy and Consumer Affairs, Isabel MartÃnez, is open to society as a whole, in particular to those people linked to the associative movement FEAFES, and all those professionals involved with the mental health field.
