Madrid, September 2010.- days 9 and 10 September was held the annual meeting of the network for research in tropical diseases (RICET). This event brings together the best Spanish researchers in tropical diseases, which will analyse the programmes and projects of the strategic plan of RICET. They will also take stock on the progress achieved with regard to tools and developed protocols to prevent and control the greater part of neglected diseases, with particular relevance to those which have a high incidence as imported.

Also the present and future of collaboration in network according to the challenges and progress to facilitate the control of diseases such as malaria, leishmaniasis, sleeping sickness, the emerging arbovirosis, certain helminthiasis or Chagas disease will be discussed at the annual meeting of RICETwhich in our country has special relevance in terms of the number of cases, its chronicity cardiac pathology that causes and their transmission in pregnant women infected.
