New technique of zygomatic, implant solution for cases with little bone.

Dr. Carlos Aparicio, a pioneer of dental implants in Europe, presented his book Zygomatic Implants: the anatomy-guided approach ”, in the College of physicians of Barcelona.

-The new technique of zygomatic implants developed by Dr Carlos Aparicio, the anatomy-guided approach ”, is the latest innovation in the dental world. This type of intervention is especially indicated for cases of large maxillary bone loss and decreases the potential complications of the original technique

-clínica Aparicio is a reference at European level in innovation and quality dental, belongs to the Group Plenido, which was represented by its Director General Luis Tejerina

BarcelonaNovember 2012- El Dr. Carlos Aparicio, medical director of clínica Aparicio of group Plenido, current President of the Spanish Association of dentistry minimally invasive and promoter of zygomatic implants in Spain, he presented his book Zygomatic Implants. The anatomy-guided approach ”, where he explains his new technique of implants zygomatic, result of years of training and research on this subject which is a pioneer in Europe.

El Dr. Carlos Aparicio junto a Anna Ferrer y Luis Tejerina en la presentación del libro sobre Implantes Cigomáticos. Zygomatic Implants. The anatomy-guided approach ”.

the new book has been published by the prestigious publisher of scientific Quintaessence and picks up the origins and the subsequent refinement of this technique, in addition to a broad relationship of some real cases in which this type of implants have solved serious oral mutilation with many people. Thanks to this new technique of implants zygomatic, patients without bone to place conventional implants can receive a fixed dental prosthesis in a few hours, without grafting, without general anesthesia or donor area. In this way, a technique of relative complexity becomes a procedure minimally invasive since its application simplifies and minimizes the patient’s treatment.

A successful surgery, the new era of zygomatic implants

As stated by Dr. Carlos Aparicio, we are in the settlement of a new era in the world of dental, implants because at the moment we have established the basis for an effective and predictable treatment of maxillary atrophy, which simplifies and reduces the complications of the previous alternatives that had graft of bone, hospitalization and general anesthesia ”.

The new procedure of zygomatic implants developed by Dr. Aparicio, recently published in the European Journal Oral Implantology, is particularly indicated in cases of absence of bone structure or failures of previous implants, prevents bone grafts and facilitates the place of final gear for new fixed teeth which is a quick and effective solution.

Existen diversos procedimientos y técnicas alternativas para la colocación de implantes en el maxilar con poco hueso, pero durante décadas, la atrofia del proceso maxilar se ha tratado mediante grandes injertos. Including the filling of the maxillary sinus including well bone taken from different areas (hip, Chin …) or non-patient substitutes which may increase the frequency of complications as well as the inconvenience resulting from the own surgery.

They have studies been conducted and documented alternatives to bone graft procedures. The use of the zygomatic bone anchorage zone for oral implants long was originally developed by prof. Brånemark and published for the first time by Aparicio and Brånemark for the rehabilitation of the atrophic maxilla. Compared to other alternatives with bone augmentation procedures, the technique reduces complications allowing the rapid rehabilitation of patients, offering them very satisfactory function and aesthetics, and providing them with a normal social life.

When using this new method based on respect and adapt to the anatomy of the patient, better results in the long term may give and the possibility of complications will reduce. In a study by Dr. Carlos Aparicio next to the University of Barcelona and published in the prestigious magazine Clinical Oral Implants & Related Research ”, demonstrates a success rate close to 96% at 10 years.

Plénido, como expresó su Director General, Luis Tejerina está en crecimiento y sus señas de identidad son la excelencia referida a la calidad médica y la atención personalizada a cada paciente para ajustar la propuesta a su situación y expectativas de forma óptima”.

The proceeds from the sale of this book will be allocated to the Vicente Ferrer Foundation, whose President Anna Ferrer, present at the ceremony, said that Dr. Aparicio has been collaborating for years with the Foundation in various projects in the India and thanks which is have been able to attend electro hundreds of children in the Bathadapali Hospital neonatology unit and have been built houses many families living in huts ”.
