No more only at Christmas ”.

-AMADE, Madrid Association of attention to the unit, celebrates the X Edition of this campaign that offers 250 Madrid more free places to celebrate the holidays in residences associated with AMADE

-The Ayuntamiento de Madrid through the Telecare Service will locate people in situation of loneliness and make them contact with AMADE

-La Comunidad de Madrid, Caritas Madrid and Fundación Alsa also collaborate with this solidarity initiative

Madrid, December of 2011- La Madrileña care Association to the unit (AMADE) presented his traditional campaign of Christmas, yesterday at 1100 hours, at the residence of our Lady of the light under the slogan no more only at Christmas, AMADE offers 250 places free in its associated centers in Madrid so that, one year more, older requesting pass these dates as indicated unaccompanied and in a warm environment. In its tenth session, the campaign has the collaboration of the city of Madrid, through the service of tele-assistance, as well as the Ministry of Social Affairs of the community of Madrid, Caritas Madrid and Fundación Alsa.

This year, centres associated with the patron madrileña of nursing homes and day centres will open its doors to enable elders who want to pass these dates as indicated in the company and share the Christmas spirit with residents and professionals of the centres. The Minister of Social Affairs of the community of Madrid, Salvador Victoria Bolívar; The General Director of elders and Social care of the Ayuntamiento de Madrid, Laura López’s Carain Salsamendi; The President of AMADE, Javier Gómez; the general coordinator of Caritas Madrid, Javier Hernando and a representative of the Alsa Foundation have been responsible for presenting the X Edition of the largest any campaign only at Christmas.

The presentation ceremony, attended by two elders who explained to the audience how lived the experience of spending Christmas in a residence of AMADE and, above all, the reasons for which this year would like to repeat.

For the second year, the city of Madrid collaborates with the campaign and, through the service of tele-assistance, more than 114,000 users in the capital, will locate people elderly who live alone and are not going to spend Christmas in the company, to offer you enjoy the holidays in one of the centres of Madrid’s patron saint. alsothe campaign also has the support of the community of Madrid, to consider that this solidarity initiative improves the quality of life of all older persons. For its part, Caritas Madrid will contact the elderly at risk of social exclusion with the Association and Foundation Alsa will contribute by providing free transportation of elders from his home to the various residential centres and vice versa.

The campaign offers over 250 seats free (125 on Christmas Eve and new year’s Eve 125), including the dinner of Christmas Eve and new year’s Eve; overnight night of Christmas Eve to Christmas and new year’s Eve to new year; and the breakfasts and meals of Christmas and new year.
