Spain, October 2011. ‐ Ordesa, pioneer in the research of new food productsIt participates in the Governing Council of the Alliance for research and innovation in health (ALINNSA). An innovative initiative, promoted by the Ministry of science and innovation (MICINN), which is intended to determine a single national strategy in the field of research and biomedical innovation; identify the major challenges of society in health issues; promote the cooperation of existing agents and strengthen the international projection of Spain in the Group of countries of the art in the life sciences and health sector.

Ordesa, company specialized in infant feeding, has extensive research experience, having been the first to incorporate its products with polyunsaturated fatty acids long chain, as well as the Prebióticos and probiotics. The company has been a pioneer in the development of innovative products like the first hydrolysed porridge or gluten of the Spanish market, food for the treatment of digestive disorders and the first special milk.

The participation of Ordesa in this Alliance demonstrates the continued commitment of the company with the r & d. Research (more than 100 experimental and clinical research projects have been developed) is one of the main strategic priorities of the company’s growth. During the past two years, Ordesa has released national and international levels not only innovative products for children but that has diversified its offerings with products covering all pediatric age (up to age 12) and nutritional supplements.

Ordesa is part of the founding group of the Alliance and its Governing Council, which will define the national strategy in the field of research and biomedical innovation. Together with Ordesa, this innovative initiative coordinated by the Instituto de Salud Carlos III, is owned by a select group of a dozen major companies and private associations, and Asebio, Farmaindustria Fenin and IFLA and representatives of the public body.
