Havana, 25 mar (EFE).-the President of Cuba, Raúl Castro, received past midnight at the Havana airport to his counterpart and ally Venezuela, Hugo Chávez, who has returned to the island to start radiotherapy cancer treatment.

According to Cuban media reported today (all official), Chávez was seen descending “lively” of the aircraft in which traveled from Venezuela and at the Havana airport “received the warm hug of welcome” Castro.

Thus, the Venezuelan leader is again in Cuba, now to begin treatment of radiotherapy which was prescribed after surgery a month ago in Havana of a tumor, recurrence of the cancer that was also spoken on the island in June of 2011.

In addition, Chavez has returned to Havana the eve of the visit to the island of Pope Benedict XVI, who after passing through Mexico, will arrive tomorrow, Monday, in the eastern city of Santiago de Cuba.

The return of Chavez to Cuba comes barely a week after returning to Venezuela after spending 21 days in Havana, recovering from an operation in which its removed a tumor of two centimeters that turned out to be cancerous and which only reported that he was in the pelvic area.

, Hugo Chávez was operated on 10 June last year of a pelvic abscess in Havana at the end of a tour by Brazil, Ecuador and Cuba, and later he detected cancer in the pelvic area that was operated.

After the first operation, the Venezuela President has returned to Cuba several times to receive chemotherapy or undergo medical check-ups. EFE
