some 300 Spanish dermatologists gather to review the topics of the Congress of the American Academy of Dermatology

Madrid, may 2012.- La Academia Española of Dermatology and Venerology (AEDV), with the collaboration of Abbott, has organized a discussion forum in Madridwhich was attended by some 300 dermatologists. The meeting aims to move professionals Spanish that they could not attend the last Congress annual of the American Academy of Dermatology, the most outstanding and innovative with regard to diagnosis, prevention and treatment of dermatological diseases. Specifically, the following topics have been reviewed: surgery, Oncology, inflammatory diseases, psoriasis, cosmetics, lasers, infectious diseases and Pediatrics.

70 Annual Congress of the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD) was held in San Diego, California and has worked with more than 19,000 attendees from 102 countries. This American meeting is considered the most important in the area of Dermatology by the number of participants, session and investigations addressed. Why, we want to move the knowledge generated by a Congress like this Spanish academics who, for one reason or another, have not been able to go to United States ”, explains Dr. José Carlos Moreno, head of the service of Dermatology of the Hospital Universitario Reina Sofía of Córdoba and the AEDV President.

Dermatology specialists diagnose and treat more than 3,000 different diseases, including cancer skin, eczema, acne, psoriasis or nail infections. They are pathologies, to affect the aesthetics of people, impacting considerably on the emotions of patients and therefore in their quality of life. So with these meetings benefit also patients, improve the quality of care, increase the experience and capacity of dermatologists in addressing a pathology and, in addition, update them in more innovative and effective treatments.
