Three teachers that integrate classroom the child Hospital Miguel Servet de Zaragoza attend each year an average of 1,000 children, to which attention individualized during their hospital stay is paid.

These three professors, along with five others, make up the team of Michael Servetus, the clinician and care home, and have been distinguished with the Medal of the Aragonese education 2012.

Of the sick children hospital, some require that their teachers are at foot of bed helping them with their subjects, while others can sit elbow with elbow with disease in the child classroom peers.

According to one of the teachers in the classroom, Teresa Callau, explained “we adapt to the circumstances of each child and their way of learning and give them a completely individualized attention”.

One of the teachers at the team, Beatriz Pardina, has pointed out that “our goal is that the child, a once it is commissioned, can join normally the school year and not lose the habit of study”.

Callau has added that “we tried that the student can continue to the extent of their possibilities with their integral development, and this makes us work in three areas, the cognitive, affective and social”.

This team caters for students aged 3 to 16. Most are admitted to the hospital, but “there are always some student about his illness remains in trauma or in the General Hospital,” highlighted one of the teachers, Jesús Ibáñez, who usually move in these cases to these two hospitals.

In addition, Pardina has pointed out that “when a child is entered in the child cannot come into the classroom by their circumstances, let’s rooms”.

Every Monday, teachers reported new income to distribute to students. Parents asked to bring the children’s books and its agenda and, if necessary, contact the College of each kid to establish minimum to follow.

As he has detailed Callau, “leaving the room and interact with other children who are in the same circumstances helps them much these kids that we try to work in a relaxed and relaxed area”.

Occasionally, teachers retire quietly if they see that two students ask for their treatments, so relate among them, is communication and help.

More than once, this team takes great joy when any alumnus is going to tell you that it is already in the University. Others have not been able to go both way and that the disease is has led them. In this sense, Callau said that “why not you get used never by much experience you have”.
