Flisa and GISCARMSA, together in a project pioneer in control of hospital clothing Spain.

in Murcia hospitals of Los Arcos del Mar Menor and Santa Lucía.

– has meant an investment of three million euros and has allowed the creation of 16 jobs for people with disabilities

Murcia, April 2012.- GISCARMSA and Flisa in Los Arcos del Mar Menor y Santa Lucia de Cartagena Murcia hospitalsthey have introduced an innovative system that connects the hospital laundry with the supply of clothing and uniforms in regime of renting.

One of the strengths required to the system has been the traceability of deliveries, returns, washing and replenishment of lingerie and uniforms that allow the understanding, at all times, the location of each of the garments and the circuit followed by them.

FLISA has responded to the challenge and, after the corresponding public procurement, has been awarded two contracts, developing and implementing the system with excellent results.

GISCARMSA, in their lists of requirements techniques, designed the model and FLISA opted for their technical development. The main purpose of the project is to ensure the control of movements of the various garments that make up the strength of a hospital linen, from its origin in own hospital, passing through the laundry of Flisa and later use in the various hospital departments, looking for the efficiency of spending that occurs by washing and replacement of provisions of clothes.

The model is based on the introduction of a RFID chip (Radio Frequency identification) in each garment used in daily service, which identifies over its useful life and controls their depreciation. It is used both for flat linen (bed linen, towels, etc …) as for clothes of form (uniforms). The technical team is completed with tunnels of the RFID reading and applications and necessary hardware.

One of the most striking performances of the project consists of the automatic delivery of the uniformity of the hospital staff. Therefore all garments of Workwear for workers are controlled since its delivery in automatic dispensers to return after its use by users with a credit of uniforms. Continuous monitoring during transport to laundry, the washing process and its subsequent load again in the dispensers.

The system incorporated by Flisa and GISCARMSA in hospitals of the arches of the Mar Menor (San Javier) and Saint Lucia (Cartagena) has meant an investment of EUR 3 million and allowed to create 16 jobs (thirteen direct and three indirect).
