The Community invests 1.7 million in reforming the hospital de Móstoles consultations and acquire a resonance.

Fernández-Lasquetty visited the Centre, where the new resonance will be operational in October

Madrid, 2011-September the Minister of health, Javier Fernández-Lasquetty, visited the facilities of the Hospital Universitario de Móstoles last Thursday to learn about the new resonance magneticethics that has incorporated the Center, whose release is planned for early October.

The community of Madrid has invested in the Hospital de Móstoles over 1.7 million in a plan for redevelopment which includes, in addition to the acquisition of new resonance, the reform of external consultations, the kitchen and the sterilization.

The installation of new equipment from resonance has required a comprehensive reform of an area of 110 square meters of the floor basement, occupied until now by the file.

This team is part of the 31 resonances acquired by the community of Madrid in recent years with an investment of 30 million ”, explained Fernández-Lasquetty.

The modern system has a speed of reconstruction of 1,782 full images per second and has a set of imaging techniques, from the basic to the most advanced, grouped into clinical packages for applications Oncology, muscle-skeletal, head, neck, spine and the rest of the body, for advanced studies of breast, to address cardiac pathology, for the study of the vascular system with or without contract and to facilitate pediatric studies.

This will result in an improvement in the patient care as it acortará waiting times, improve diagnosis and prevent displacement to other centres that you can perform almost 100% of the evidence requested by physicians. So far, a part of these tests was derived to other centres.

in addition to the resonance, the hospital has carried out other reforms that have affected the sterilization unit, a part of the external consultations and the kitchen. This last reform will be completed in mid-October.

They are all part of the plan of modernisation of the Hospital that has been launched with the aim of offering the highest demands of quality, both the patients as the center professionals.

The last phase of the reform of external consultations resulted in an investment of 250,000 euros. He has acted in an area of about 590 square meters where you will find the urology, surgery, orthopedic surgery, rehabilitation and geriatric services. The project has included the transformation of floors and ceilings as well as sanitation and adjustment of electrical installations and air conditioning. in addition to improving the comfort of patients and professional services, the works have enabled the creation of new spaces intended for health care.

During the execution of works affected consultations have moved to other parts of the hospital for the purpose of maintaining health care normally. The renovation of the rest of the consultations carried out during the summer of 2010.

Sterilization unit

The reform of the sterilization unit has had a cost of 80,000 euros and has allowed the installation of new devices, improving the quality of the sterilization process and the safety and comfort of workers, mainly a new steam generator and two sterilizers. In addition, have been placed new extraction systems of heat and ventilation that they allow to remove waste gases and vapors and prevents the accumulation of dust. The architectural structure, the works allow to improve the system of receipt and delivery of the material, also changing the lighting and the State of ceilings and floors.

Finally, the comprehensive reform of the kitchen, whose completion is expected for October 21, affects 480 m2 and will involve an investment of € 450,000 used in the modernization of the electrical, plumbing, air conditioning, extraction and sanitation. Furthermore the floors, ceilings and equipment will be changed and you will be a proper classification of the different areas in which the kitchen is divided. The project has been divided into four phases what has kept the kitchen service for admitted patients without having to resort to external suppliers.
