The Council of physiotherapists expresses its support for the manifesto of the medical profession at the cuts health.

Madrid, November of 2011- the President of the General Council of schools of physical therapists of Spain (CGCFE), José Antonio Martín Urrialde, has expressed support of the institution which chairs and representing, the manifesto of the Forum of the medical profession at the health cuts.

In the view of Martín Urrialde, the Pact of State for health, change of remuneration model and professional development provided by the law of management of the health professions (I), until now defaulted, are common aspects to all health professionals ”.

Also, the President of the Council coincides with the Forum on the need that the development of a coherent administration of human resources, remedying a problem specific physical therapy, as the meager patients ratio is physiotherapist, which located in Spain in very low values outside of the EU average.

Finally, all the health professions has expressed the need that before the current economic and social situation establish synergies of collaboration and support, to ensure that the Supreme good of health and social welfare of citizens ”.

CGCFE

The General Council of physiotherapists schools of Spain (CGCFE) is the body that represents more than 40,000 physiotherapists, in Spain, dealing with the common goal of promoting the health of citizens. In addition, orders the profession, guardianship the interests of physiotherapy, as well as its optimal implementation and universalization.

Physiotherapists are health professionals, as foreseen in existing legislation, accredited with the University degree in physical therapy, taught at 43 universities and holders of knowledge and skills designed to benefit the health of the population. Furthermore, there is a greater number of doctorates and masters, to ensure their high qualification.
