Alicante, July 2012.- Disney has opened one of its new colours hospitals ”: the General Hospital of Alicante, the eighth in all Spain that binds to this project. Children’s areas decorated with the Toy Story theme on this occasion, have been the area of Oncology, surgery and Hospital day.

This initiative, which is part of the national project colors hospitals ” of the Walt Disney Company, aims to improve the income of pediatric patients and help them in their recovery through the creation of an atmosphere of illusion and fantasy in the hospital areas.

The regional secretariat of health, Nela Garcia, has been responsible for opening the new decor along with the Director of the General Hospital of Alicante, Dr. Juan Antonio Marques, and the Manager of Social responsibility corporate Disney for the South of Europe and Africa, Almudena Pérez.

The performances of Disney in the General Hospital of Alicante

The paediatric service of the University General Hospital of Alicante offers its portfolio of services, consultations in the fields of Nephrology, urology, neonatology, Neurology, Oncology, psychology, allergology, pneumology, cardiology, gastrointestinal, Endocrinology and infants.

Of the total of activity during the financial year 2011, pediatric specialists attended a total of 20.069 queries during the year 2011, which resulted in an increase in activity of 1.783 consultations. Of the total visits, 4.058 were initial consultations while 14.228 were successive.
