The SEMG held its XIII International Congress of clinical ultrasound in the framework of the European meeting that co-organises this year.

Spain, may 2012.- The past weekend was inaugurated at the Palacio Municipal de Congresos de Madrid EUROSON 2012, the appointment of specialists in clinical ultrasound of the continent and all those doctors who want to delve into the proper handling of this, according to professionals, useful diagnostic tool. The Spanish society of General physicians and family (SEMG) is one of the organizing scientific societies, the only optional in the first level of care, not in vain is precursor of clinical ultrasound in primary care and pioneer in Spain to provide the necessary training for the proper handling of this technique.

Precisely in the framework of this European meeting, the SEMG held its XIII International Congress of ultrasound clinic, which was launched last Saturday with a pre-congressual course specifically dedicated to ductal ultrasound of the breast, which presents better possibilities to detect early alterations of this body, as explained from the section on clinical ultrasound of this scientific society; a technique whose novelty and importance are globally recognized: proof of this is that in this pre-congressual course of the SEMG is optional insribieron from more than 18 countries.

The program of this thirteenth edition included a full range of ultrasound applications: from the normal monitoring of pregnancy in primary care to the use of the ultrasound of thorax in Pediatrics, passing by its usefulness in dermatology and aesthetic medicine or in the detection of benign and malignant growths in soft tissue. The SEMG meeting also allowed attendees to do a review of the evolution of ultrasound in recent years: through French, German experience and of society itself.

EUROSON 2012 was held in the Spanish capital until last Tuesday and was organized by the European Federation of societies for Ultrasound in medicine and biology (EFSUMB); the Spanish society of ultrasound (SEECO); the Spanish society of General physicians and family (SEMG); the Spanish Association of ultrasound digestive (AEED); the Spanish society of Angiology and Vascular Surgery (SEACV) and its chapter of diagnostic Vascular non invasive (CDVNI), counting on the collaboration of other societies of different disciplines.
