The Spanish society of Electromedicine and Clinical Engineering (SEEIC) presents its Strategic Plan 2011-2013

– stands for a day in which have participated Begoña Arranz Sebastian, Assistant Director-general of active policies for employment, SEPE; Rafael Rodríguez de la Cruz, national director of the INCUAL, and Margarita Alfonsel, general Secretary of Fenin

-one of the main strategic objectives of the SEEIC focuses on the normative and formative development of professional qualifications, certificates of professionalism and associated qualifications

– another of their ways of working through actively collaborating in the promotion of the patient safety in the field of asset health products not Implantables (PSANIs)

Ma drid, 2011-September during a day held throughout the morning of Friday, the Spanish society of Electromedicine and Clinical Engineering (SEEIC) has presented its Strategic Plan for the next three years. Its main objectives are to bring a greater role in society, as well as to enhance the participation of members in upcoming projects.

One of the lines of action to which more efforts has allocated and will continue projecting SEEIC, is normative and formative development of professional qualifications, certificates of professionalism and associated qualifications. In this sense, explains Antonio Abella, Vice President of the SEEIC, we are positioning as advisory body independent of public administrations. Thus, we are working with ministries of education and work with the purpose of creating a complete formative itinerary covering the vocational training of grade environment, superior, possible degrees of specialization and the University education of grade ”.

Another work of the Spanish society of Electromedicine and clinical engineering tracks, passes by actively collaborating in the promotion of the patient safety in the field of non-implantable products health assets (PSANI ’ s). For this reason, they work to standardise the criteria and procedures for the management and maintenance of the electro-medical equipment, in order to ensure control and quality assurance. In this same vein, the SEEIC collaborates with the Spanish Agency of medicines and health products (AEMPS) in the tasks of prevention, reporting and improvement of processes to ensure the safety of patients.

The members of the Spanish society of Electromedicine and clinical engineering work in companies, hospitals and organizations and institutions associated with the electromédica technology. For the Board of Directors of the SEEIC, promote the participation of its partners and promote training activities addressed to them, is another of the pillars of its strategic plan. In fact,-says Antonio Abella-, many of the goals we have set ourselves for the next three years will require the active collaboration of our partners (both corporate and individual), in which we hope to arouse the interest of participating in this new stage ”.

In this order of things, are working to continue to count on the invaluable participation of entities and public bodies in the implementation of the training programs ”. To address this aspect, the table entitled has been ‘ training processes in the health technology sector ’, in which participated Begoña Arranz Sebastian, Assistant Director-general active employment policies, SEPE, of the Ministry of labour and immigration, and Rafael Rodríguez de la Cruz, director national INCUAL, of the Ministry of education. Likewise, we also wanted to give an active involvement our partners during the day, introducing a table Symposium and raised their concerns addressed and answered their demands ”, explains Abella.

In addition, has been with the intervention of Margaret Alfonsel, general Secretary of Fenin, who explained the situation of health technology in Spain industry. For its part, Jesus l. Manzanares, President of the SEEIC, began the day doing a review of the current Spanish panorama of the Electromedicine and clinical engineering.

Upcoming projects

-Establish the mechanism of operation, configuration, and coordination of the more than forty lines of action to be put in place.

-Development of the training programme of the SEEIC basin, Navarre and Barcelona.

-Assist in the development of the training programme on the certificates of professionalism, for the next year, in Cuenca, Portugalete and Huesca.

-collaborate with the competent authorities for the development of the professional certification of work experience in Electromedicine.

-Increase the number of individual and business partners, and encourage their active participation.

-Draw up a priority list of needs, suggestions and demands of members, as well as the services that offer them.

-Promoting a greater approach towards partners current and potential of the public and private sectors, companies, corporations and agencies public health centres (managers, management directors, medical directors, heads of service and technical specialists of Electromedicine) staff and personnel of manufacturers, importers and distributors of medical devices.

-Establish collaborations, both nationally and internationally, with other scientific societies and related entities of the sector.

-Carry out the formative days of the SEEIC in Navarre and Barcelona.

-Celebrate the next National Congress of the SEEIC, Barcelona 2012.

Present and future of the SEEIC

The Spanish society of Electromedicine and Clinical Engineering (SEEIC) is a national institution for scientific and technical character acting, inter alia, with the goal of being the partner to promote to the public and private agencies, management and professional standards of the standards and requirements necessary for the correct application of the electromedical equipment.

He is a pioneer in Spain society, whose members carry out their activity in companies, hospitals and other organizations and institutions associated with the electromédica technology.

The challenges of this scientific society aimed at short-term towards implementing underway certificates of professionalism and an own qualification, up to now formally non-existent, to respond to a training and regulation of the sector of the Electromedicine and clinical engineering in Spain and to the consolidation of the relevant professional categories within hospitals Theisprivate of the country, and in the companies of the sector, with a very direct condition in the continuous improvement of the healthcare quality and safety in the application and use of systems and electro-medical equipment and facilities.

On the other hand, according to its aim of collaborating in the preparation of the professionals who carry out tasks related to the electro, the company has own training programmes covering various technical and management issues related to its sphere of action.
