CARACAS (Reuters) – the President of Venezuela, Hugo Chávez, said Saturday he will return in the next few hours to Cuba to begin Sunday a treatment of radiotherapy for up to five weeks against suffering and cancer that has left him convalescing for the presidential elections in October, which will seek a new mandate.

Treatment which will be the military removed from 57 years forcing him to lose the pace of constant public appearances and Marathon speeches in moments in which intensifies the electoral campaign for the elections which are seen as the most hotly contested which has had face.

“tonight go to Havana.” “I decided on the recommendation of my medical equipment and my political team start tomorrow Sunday the radiotherapy treatment,” said Chavez during a Council of Ministers in chain of radio and television.

“a month of operation are ready for radiotherapy which runs for about four or five weeks, but will start tomorrow in Havana”, stated the President.

At the end of February, Chavez traveled to Cuba and underwent new surgery which had removed a cancerous tumour in the pelvic area, which had already been treated for cancer.
