today begins the 22nd International Congress of optometry, contact lenses and optics Oftálmica – OPTOM 2012-, the biennial event in the sector of optics and optometry that coincides with the celebration of ExpoÓptica.

The Inaugural Conference of the Congress will be borne by Dr. Francisco Mora, one of the most prominent experts in the Neurosciences both in our country and in United States place where also plays their professional work. With the title it can delay the ageing of the brain? ”, scientist and popularizer address if possible or prevent deterioration of brain functions as a result of ageing.

As well as doctor of medicine, the University of Granada (1972) and PhD in neuroscience from the University of Oxford (1977) Francisco Mora is Professor of Physiology human of the Faculty of Medicine of the Complutense University of Madrid and of Molecular Physiology and Biophysics of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Iowa (United States). Also, he has held the Presidency of the Spanish society of physiological Sciences and he has been responsible for the management of the Department of human physiology of the Faculty of Medicine of the UCM. Currently, Dr. Francisco Mora combines his medical, teaching and research activity with a huge outreach work, articles, books and conferences, with which, in a fun and entertaining, manages to bring to the general public to the science of the brain.

At the Inaugural Conference of OPTOM 2012, Dr. Mora will explain new knowledge from Neuroscience that allow glimpse prospects until recently unsuspected relating to the normal aging process. OPTOM 2012, the Congress of optometry and ophthalmic optics sector
