Madrid, February of 2012.- the community of Madrid yesterday granted health distinctions of 2011 that recognizes dedication to the Madrid health professionals, institutions and organizations.

The highest decoration, the Grand Cross of the madrilenian health, has been awarded to Dr. Javier Matos Aguilar in recognition of his extensive professional and teaching career and his work as President of the College of physicians for over 16 years.

In addition, also had been granted great cross of the Madrid health doctor Andrés Esteban de la Torre for his extensive career devoted to intensive care, especially to the great burned.

On the other hand, the gold plates have been issued to the Foundation Renal Iñigo Alvarez de Toledo for his work welfare and human with people with kidney disorders, and by supporting research in such diseases. And the Congregation sisters Hospital of the sacred heart of Jesus by the care quality work in hospitals dedicated to the care of persons with mental illness, especially in the Foundation Benito Menni.

Health careers

Dr. Javier Matos Aguilar, was President of the official College of physicians for 16 years. He was Chief of service of Paediatrics of the Hospital Universitario Gregorio Marañón between 1985 and 1990.

Dr. Andrés Esteban de la Torre, is head of intensive care and service great Burns of the University Hospital of Getafe, unit of reference for the national health system.

Iñigo Alvarez de Toledo Renal Foundation aims to serve and assist medical, clinical and humane people with kidney disorders. He has extensive experience in the management of dialysis centres. Currently it operates health in Madrid, Castilla y León and Galicia. It contributes actively in various areas of research, in the community of Madrid, participating, among others, in the Group of Peritoneales studies in Madrid, from the Nephrology service of the Hospital la Paz, as well as in the research group of Physiology and pathophysiology of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Alcalá de Henares of Madrid.

Finally, the Congregation sisters hospital sacred heart of Jesus was founded in Ciempozuelos, in 1881, by San Benito Menni, priest of the order of San Juan de Dios, María Josefa Recio and María Angustias Giménez, to deal with people suffering from mental disorders.
