Madrid, 7 Dec (EFE).-the 42 percent of Spaniards suffers from more than one factor of cardiovascular risk (hypertension, overweight, diabetes, smoking or sedentary lifestyle) and 57 per cent have at least one of these.

The combination of various risk factors makes the chances of suffering a heart disease increase “dramatically”, you are warned in a statement the Spanish Heart Federation (FEC), which has ended the weeks of heart 2011.

The FEC has conducted about 26,000 medical tests, street, in the cities you have visited (Guadalajara, Santander, Lugo, Madrid, Logroño, Castellón, Barcelona, Córdoba, Salamanca and Cádiz), aiming to raise awareness about the need to follow a lifestyle heart.

After analysing the results, this organization has concluded that the longares are they who suffer more overweight (51.7%) and hypertension (44.6%); the salamantinos, those who suffer more hypercholesterolemia (68.5%); the locals, which show a higher rate of high waist perimeter (51%); and the Cordoba, who suffer more obesity (33%).

Contrast, Barcelona suffer less overweight (32%), hypertension (9.3%) and hypercholesterolemia (7.8%); locals, have a lower rate of high waist perimeter (38.4%); and the days those who have a rate of lower obesity (19.8%).

The FEC recalls that more than 120,000 people from cardiovascular, diseases die every year in Spain which represents 31.2% of the total number of cases of death.

According to the World Health Organization (who), 80% of premature deaths could have been avoided following a healthy lifestyle and reducing the factors of risk.
