Platense aldermen approved an agreement with the education portfolio in Buenos Aires that the municipality will deliver pot with fruit salad to be distributed on newsstands that operate inside schools district, in the framework of a programme called kiosks healthy.

The former head of the Regional market of La Plata and Councilman Juan Martín Malpeli stressed: “we have travelled more than 30 educational establishments conducting talks and delivering healthy foods and now want to strengthen this programme to become a State, beyond of a management policy”.

Said, the initiative is based on that, according to a report from the center of studies on nutrition child (CESNI), three of every ten Argentine students consume more calories than they need and are overweight because their diet is rich in carbohydrates, low in fruit and do not make enough activity physics.

As test pilot, school annexed “Joaquín V. Gonzalez” in the province, already implemented months ago the sale of fruits in the kiosk of the establishment.
